Economic development strategy

The City’s economic agenda is set through the 2007-2010 Grow Dubbo Economic Development Plan. The Plan has a clear ambition:

‘Through business investment, build a strong economic base for Dubbo that reflects competitive advantages in key emerging and developing industry sectors.’

The Plan seeks to build on current economic success by capitalising on the many advantages of Dubbo's economy and identifies key issues for action. It also aims to increase Dubbo City Council’s interaction with the business community and other organisations to promote economic development in the City.

The Economic Development Plan is supported by a five-year City Image Marketing Strategy which was developed to ensure positive City promotion and a more coordinated approach to City marketing efforts. The marketing strategy also looks to provide foundation marketing support and collaborative campaigns to assist local businesses in their individual pursuits.
