National Youth Week 10 – 18 April 2010
Local youth are urged to Live it Now as part of this year’s National Youth Week with nominations now invited for the 2010 Dubbo Youth Recognition Awards as part of the annual event.
Dubbo City Council’s Youth Development Officer Paul Hennock said the awards were aimed at recognising young people for their achievements. “It’s about those youth who are providing positive input into their community,” he said. “Previous award recipients have proceeded to hold prominent positions in the community. These include becoming members of Dubbo City Youth Council and being awarded Dubbo Young Australian of the Year".
Dubbo RSL Club is assisting Dubbo City Council by sponsoring the awards. Categories include Community Service, Education and Training, Sport and Culture. Nominees must be aged between 12 and 25 and reside in the Dubbo Local Government Area. Nomination forms are available from Dubbo City Council, PCYC, Dubbo, Neighbourhood Centre and Dubbo RSL Club.
Nominations close on March 5, 2010. The awards evening will be held at the Dubbo RSL Club on Friday 16 April 2010.
