In line with the Australian Government direction of empowering young people and giving them greater opportunities to express their ideas, a competition is being run to determine the two locations for the live launch events for 2010 National Youth Week.
The National Youth Week ‘ourspace’ competition invites entrants to submit an audio, video or photographic piece about their home town and the contribution that young people make. Assessment of the entries will focus on the messages portrayed, rather than technical filmmaking/photographic or audio skills.
Two winners, aged 12-25, will be selected from two different locations, and will each receive a VIP pass to a live music event in their home town. The National Launch Events will then be held in two different locations in April 2010. The competition entries close on 31 January 2009.
National Youth Week 2010 will run from 10-18 April 2010 and is themed ‘Live it Now’.
‘Ourspace’ has now been officially launched by the Minister for Youth, the Hon Kate Ellis MP and we encourage young people from across Australia to apply.
